Did you know...

... that today is the birthday of the Hoover Dam? In 1930,
work began on Boulder Dam (now called Hoover Dam). At the time
it was completed, the dam was the highest concrete dam in the
world. The Dam is 726.4 feet high, 1,244 feet across at the
top, 660 feet thick at the base, 45 feet thick at the top, and
weighs 6.6 millions tons!
